Yukon Nominee Program (YNP)

When a company is unable to fill a permanent full-time position with a Canadian or permanent resident, Yukon business owners can apply to the Yukon Nominee Program in order to hire foreign workers. The Yukon government does not hire employees on behalf of Yukon companies. If authorized by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), foreign workers are permitted to bring their spouses, common-law partners, and dependent children under the age of 18 to Yukon.

Candidates can apply under one of four categories if they want to relocate to Yukon and become a permanent resident of Canada


Yukon Express Entry

If the position being hired falls under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) A, 0, or B categories, employers may apply to the Express Entry stream. Additionally, the foreign worker must fulfill the criteria for a federal economic immigration program.


Skilled Worker Program AND Critical Impact Worker Program

Employers may apply to the Skilled Worker stream if the National Occupational Classification (NOC) A, 0, or B categories apply to the role they are hiring for, and to the Critical Impact Worker stream if the category is C or D.


Yukon Business Nominee Program

The Yukon Business Nominee Program allows entrepreneurs to own and operate their businesses in Yukon. Candidates initially come to Yukon on a two-year work permit, before being nominated for permanent residence if they successfully establish their business.
