Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

The province’s economic immigration program is known as Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. It collaborated with the federal government of Canada through Immigration Refugees and Citizenships Canada (IRCC). The OINP is an employer-driven programme in that candidates are not eligible to apply unless they have received a Doctorate from a publicly-funded Ontario university or have a permanent full-time job offer from an Ontario firm.

There are three ways to meet the requirements to be nominated:


Employer Category for Job Offers

Only those who have the support of an Ontario employer and have received a full-time, indefinite job offer are eligible to submit an application under these categories.


  • Employer Category Streams:

    • Foreign Worker Stream
    • International Student Stream
    • In-Demand Skills Stream
    • Regional Immigration Pilot


Human Capital Category

This category permits OINP to submit nominations for persons who have the training, credentials, and work experience needed to improve the economy and labour market in Ontario. It consists of two foreign student stream and three Express Entry Streams:


  • HCC Streams:

    • Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
    • Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream
    • Express Entry Human Skilled Workers Stream
    • Masters Graduate Stream
    • PhD Graduate Stream


Entrepreneur Immigration

The BC PNP offers a pathway for experienced entrepreneurs who can assist innovation and economic growth in the province to immigrate to Canada and live in British Columbia. This pathway is further divided into two categories:


  • Pathway Categories:

    • Entrepreneur Stream
    • Business person – Regional Pilot
